Feeders 101, Lecture 2: Product Handling - Tom Rickenbach

In Session 2 of Feeders 101 entitled "Product Handling", Tom Rickenbach of K-Tron discusses guidelines for matching the appropriate feeder to your process needs. Tom discusses single and twin screw feeders, weigh belts, vibratory feeders, bulk-solids pumps, liquid pumps and smart flow meters. Also he discusses special feeders used in pharmaceutical applications. When discussing screw feeders, he presents the various screw, tube and hopper configurations, along with methods to calculate the volumetric throughput for both screws and belts. To choose the best feeder for your application, Tom categorizes many bulk solids properties to help you select the proper feeder.
