How to Know Where to Point my Telescope

This is a tool that will help you figure out where to point your telescope if you are new at this. A lot of us are indeed new at how to use a telescope for the first time. World Wide Telescope is a nice tool to get you oriented with the sky. Download WWT here: http://www.worldwidetelescope.org/download/ Please understand that you may not get to see certain planets until they happen to be in the night sky....sooooo a certain time of year for certain planets. Some planets are on the other side of earth during the night and on your side of earth during the daylight. You won't see anything illuminating from space during the daylight. WWT can show where things are in your night sky. First identify what constellations you can see, then find them on WWT and watch for the yellow region border around them and peer within that region. Hope that helps. Understand that some things are enhanced on WWT and may not be seen from your instrument, but it is what is up there! :)
