All you have to do as parents is that you have to present it carefully to the kids and then ask as many questions as you can ask rather than giving kids some fixed number problems, I am sure you would be surprised with kids' answers and their way of understanding numbers in such fun way. They also start understanding that how a number can further be divided in to many possible lesser numerals than that number and together make a bigger number for e.g 4 can further be divided in to set of 1+3, 2+2. 7 can further be divided in to set of 1+6, 2+5,3+4.
