1968 IMPERIAL LE BARON - LOW SALES MAKE THIS SUPER RARE

Since 1955 the Imperial brand kept trying hard to compete against Cadillac and Lincoln and into the sixties, the fight was still useless. Case in point, this Imperial LeBaron hardtop sedan is one of only 1,852 sold this year. While the lesser Imperial, the Crown offered more body styles, in hardtop coupe, convertible coupe, a foud door sedan and hardtop sedan, the sales totaled over 13,00 units. The Imperial this year wrapped a new grille around its fenders andthe $ 6,497 convertible was the last time offered. The engine for the Imperial is a V8, with 440 cubic displacement providing 350 horsepower or 360 hp. with dual exhaust. This LeBaron hardtop sedan had a base price of $ 6,940 and weighs in at 6,940 lbs. Again, the sales competition faltered once again with sales declining 13 % to 15,367 units.
