Prof. Dr. Thomas Naumann: Universe - Multiverse. Do we live in the best of all worlds?

Our existence depends on a variety of constants which appear to be extremely fine-tuned to allow for the existence of Life. These include the number of spatial dimensions, the strengths of the forces, the masses of the particles, the composition of the Universe and others. Starting from Leibniz' question whether we live in the "Best of all Worlds" we discuss whether the hypothesis of a multiverse could explain the mysterious fine-tuning of so many fundamental quantities and review anthropic arguments. --- “Това, което наистина ме интересува, е дали Бог е могъл да създаде света по по-различен начин”, философски отбелязва Айнщайн. Съществуването ни зависи от многобройни константи, като че ли фино синхронизирани помежду си, за да позволяват развитието на живот. Такива са броят на пространствените измерения, фундаменталните взаимодействия, масата на частиците, съставът на Вселената и други. Проф. д-р Томас Науман тръгва от въпроса на Лайбниц дали живеем в “най-добрия от всички възможни светове”. По време на презентацията си той анализира дали хипотезата за мултивселената може да обясни прецизния синхрон на толкова много фундаментални величини и ще разгледа аргументите на антропния принцип.
