That means it is less ventilated than the more advanced Blade helmet, and it does not feature an extended rear diffuser. Beyond that, however, the X1 is very similar to FXR's premium mountain and snowcross helmets. There are three variations of this helmet. Two of them are DOT and ECE approved - one of which is the standard version, while the other is a lightweight, more expensive carbon-fiber version. The third model is a racing version, which is Snell approved. With the exception of the carbon-fiber model, the X1 is constructed from a mix of fiberglass, Kevlar, and aerospace-grade carbon-fiber. As you will be wearing goggles with this helmet, we recommend using it with FXR's Mission line of goggles if possible. The helmet was designed to work especially well with that lineup, and doing so will help you to get the most out of your purchase. Of course, the helmet will fit with most other types of goggles as well. The nose of the helmet is specially designed to protect against frostbite, which is great for snowmobiling use. Aggressive riders will generate a lot of body heat and perspiration while sledding, so the X1's liner was made to be removable and machine-washable. Finally, the helmet comes with removable cheek pads. This allows the rider to add or remove the helmet's cushioning, thereby creating a custom fit. Overall, the FXR X1 helmet is a great choice for aggressive riders with a mid-range budget.
