2018 Java Steam & Sugar Tour: Kedawung Steam Loco Tour

This video was taken during the last day of 2018 Java Steam & Sugar tour on 13 September 2018. This was also the second time I chartered the newly reactivated Kedawung no.14 steam locomotive this year. Our steam tour in here has been dramatic one. We were supposed to do this excursion a day before (and this day was supposed to be spent for visit to Semboro sugar mill to see fireless locos), but it was cancelled due to leaking fire tube. So they had to repair the loco for the whole day. On then, in the morning before this trip, we still had doubt whether if they would repair it in time, until I receive news that the locomotive have been fully repaired. We eventually head here and cancelled our plan to visit Semboro. We were very lucky that day, other than the fact that we could get the steam loco running, they also have excess sugarcane load (sugarcane that was not collected in time due to locomotive shortage) that can be retrieved by our loco without any need to wait for late afternoon. In addition, we also had clear sky that allows us to photograph the train with the backdrop of mount Bromo-Tengger volcano. If you like to experience the excitement by yourself, join our tour!
