"Youth Voices with Tristan Pang" is a weekly radio programme at Planet FM 104.6 (Auckland, New Zealand) broadcasted by 13 yo Tristan Pang. Please tune-in every Saturday at 5.20pm if you are in Auckland, or listen to the archive on his website: quest-is-fun.org.nz/youthvoices, or planetaudio.org.nz/youthvoices, or from Tristan Pang's Youtube channel. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tristan Pang, aged 13, is a boy who aspires to make a difference to the world. He has already achieved a great deal which seems only to spur him on to greater heights. Tristan self-studied and completed Cambridge A levels when he was only 11, obtaining the highest attainable grade of A*. In the same year, Tristan delivered a TED talk, becoming the youngest TEDx talk speaker in New Zealand and one of the youngest in the world. By age 12, he became the youngest maths student at the University of Auckland. Tristan started reading fiction and non-fiction books independently before he was two. It was probably about this time that he became fascinated by patterns and realised that patterns can be explained with mathematics. With a real thirst for learning, he kept exploring and discovering new concepts. The more he learned the more enthralled he became. Before he was five, he had covered all the math books in the national curriculum from Year 1 to Year 13. Tristan is committed to helping others. His goal is to become a scientist and work on solving global problems. He has also recently been recognised by the Australian Media as one of ten child prodigies who are set to change the world. Tristan is interested in environmental issues. He is currently working on a project at the Photon Factory at the University of Auckland where he is investigating the effects of fertilisers on the environment, particularly on waterways. Tristan is the founder of Tristan’s Learning Hub, an online resource where he teaches maths from Year 1 to Year 13. He has had numerous requests for interviews and is also a frequent guest at schools, education conferences, private organisations and institutions, where he gives inspirational talks that are well-received by diverse audiences. Not only has he been invited locally, but also from around the world including the UK, USA, UAE and India. In March this year, Tristan started his own radio programme called “Youth Voices”, broadcast over the community access station Planet FM (New Zealand 104.6FM). Tristan’s passion is to inspire young people to aim high and to follow their dreams. Inspirational talks, interviews, and stories are shared every Saturday afternoon. With his passion for reading and writing, Tristan is not only sharing his own experience through his voice, but also through words. He is now penning an autobiography book due for release soon.
