Messerschmitt (ME) 109G-10 Aircraft of Erich Hartmann

A brief synopsis of the Messerschmitt BF ME 109 aircraft and it's G-10 variant, specifically the distinctive Black Tulip fighter of Luftwaffe Major Erich Hartmann. He scored 352 aerial victories and flew 1,425 missions and was involved in 800 dogfights with enemy aircraft. He was awarded the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds. After the war and his release from Soviet captivity, he joined the Bundesluftwaffe in 1956. He passed away in 1995. One of the statement he made from his final interview was "Never allow yourself to hate a people because of the actions of a few...keep an open mind and always look for the good in people. You may be surprised at what you find."
