Final Fantasy IV (Android) Walkthrough Episode 17: Scarmiglione

In this episode, we battle the first elemental archfiend twice. The first battle is really easy. Bluff with Palom and then use Fira to take out the Skulnants. Watch out for Scarmiglione's Thunder spell, it can hurt, especially on Cecil who has bad magic defense. The second phase is almost luck-based, that's how hard it is. Start the battle with your party inversed because the battle is a back attack. Make sure you put Slow and Cry on Scarmiglione and Protect on your party before you even attack. Scarmiglione's physical attacks really hurt, so watch out. He has an attack called Zombie Breath which can put a lot of nasty status ailments on your characters, most notably Silence and Blind. Have Palom Bluff and use Fira (or the Fire Rod if he is Silenced). Make sure you don't use ice spells on Scarmiglione, it'll heal him. Have Cecil attack or use items. Have Porom buff up your characters and heal if needed, and have Tellah heal. If you can get through the battle without Zombie Breath (like I did here), you'll be lucky.
