Puma’s first carbon plate racing shoe - the Deviate Nitro Elite - largely stuck to the traditional super-shoe design with a chunky stack of bouncy foam and a carbon plate. Puma then took an entirely new approach with the Fast-R Nitro Elite, which has a decoupled midsole and two very different foams at the heel and forefoot of the shoe.
