Social Coding through VS Anywhere with GitHub

Tutorial on how to start a social coding session, connected to GitHub repositories. - Visit the VS Anywhere website: http://vsanywhere.com Social coding is a software development style that emphasizes collaboration. VS Anywhere offers the unique functionality of social coding through GitHub, providing the possibility to connect with new people to elaborate your ideas in a secure setup. To use this functionality, you need a GitHub account. Once you are registered, click the Access GitHub Repositories icon located in the VS Anywhere Control Center. When it opens, three columns appear: To the left are the Top repositories. If you click on a repository in this section, you can choose to Join, adding it to your Repository list. This lets you see the other people connected to this repository, and vice versa. Underneath, there's a search bar, where you can enter search terms. In the bottom right field you can paste a GitHub URL from your browser. You can then download the selected repository. In the middle column, we see My repositories, where you can log in to your GitHub account. When you sign in, your repositories appear and you could also select one of those for easy download. If you connect to a repository that has other VS Anywhere users also connected, they appear on your contact list, even if you have not added them as contacts. Once you've downloaded the same version as someone else, you can start a shared session by clicking the Share Solution icon and invite the others to collaborate.
