Can police stop me in the street for no reason? A former cop explains

Can police detain you in the street for no reason? In this video, former cop Michael Scafiddi says no. In order to have probable cause to stop and detain you, police must have reason to believe that you are engaged in some sort of criminal activity. Lawyers sometimes refer to this as "reasonable suspicion." Absent this, a detention on the street violates your 4th Amendment right to be free of illegal police search and seizures. Any evidence that police collect by way of an illegal stop can be excluded from evidence by way of a suppression motion in court. More info at http://www.shouselaw.com/search-seizure.html
