The Rea Sea, Covering Approximately 450,000 Square Kilometres, Is A Semi-enclosed Marginal Seawater Inlet Of The Indian Ocean, Located Between Asia And Africa. It Has A Maximum Length Of 2250 Km, And Maximum Width Of 355 Km. The Red Sea Is Connected To The Indian Ocean Via The Bab El Mandeb Strait And Gulf Of Aden. In The North, The Red Sea Connects To The Mediterranean Sea Via The Suez Canal. Red Sea Is Bordered On Its Eastern Shore By Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia And Yemen, And On Its Western Shore By Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea And Djibouti. The Average Depth Of The Red Sea Is 490 Meters And The Maximum Depth Is 3,040 Meters. The Water Volume Of The Red Sea Is About 233,000 Cubic Kilometers, That's 19 times the volume of water in Lake Superior. The Red Sea Is One Of The Saltiest Bodies Of Water In The World, Due To High Evaporation Rate, Low Precipitation And Absence Of Any Significant Rivers Or Streams Draining Into The Sea.
