Advances in specific cell imaging

A team at MIT is now able to utilize calcium cell imaging to analyze the connections of specific cell types. While normal brain scans can not show activity, the new method of imaging labels fired neurons with a fluorescent signal, allowing scientists to track dynamic network activity.
