Yossif Ivanov plays Prokofiev Sonata no.1

Dark, atmospheric, aggressive, but at the same time intensely lyrical, this sonata is one of the greatest of the 20th century and a personal favourite of mine. My teacher Igor Oistrakh was a teenager when he heard Prokofiev play this sonata for the first time to his father David. I remember him saying Prokofiev's long nails would make clicking sound on the keyboard while playing, which I found was quite funny!
