Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope

Join Daniel Devost, the director of science operations at the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope. Daniel will take classrooms into the control room of the telescope to explain how the telescope works and the mysteries of our universe that astronomers are using it to to try and unravel. The Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope hosts a world-class, 3.6 meter optical/infrared telescope. The observatory is located atop the summit of Maunakea, a 4200 meter, dormant volcano located on the island of Hawaii. The Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope became operational in 1979.
