A Busy Mom Side Braid Tutorial - My Quick Braid Transformation! I’ve been asked a few times to show how I do my side braid and I’m excited to share today. Disclaimer: I don’t do hair for a living, I have no clue how to really braid hair I’ve been asked if you times to show how I do my side braid and I’m excited to share today. Disclaimer: I don’t do hair for a living, I have no clue how to really braid hair ( when I was little I would practice French braids on my horses tail) but have somehow found this unique style to work for my hair texture and my face so it may be something you love, too! Step one: have dirty hair. Step two: if your hair is clean or very healthy put a little hairspray on your fingers or some hair polmade/ styling gel so that you get a grip and a little texture as you’re braiding. Step three: don’t overthink it and have fun with it. It may take a few times of practice but you will eventually get it and if it’s a little messy even better!! Pro tip : if you’ve previously curled your hair or better yet used a crimping iron that will give the braid a really cool texture and more volume. I start with a mini French braid at the top of my bang area. Once I reach my ear, I do a few more loops of a regular braid to take it past the ear a bit. Then I grab the rest of my hair and pull it to the side. I separate it into two big chunks, and start the fishtail braid section. The fishtail braid is the easiest for me because it is only two parts, and you pull from the outside edge of each section bringing it in and repeating that process. You can take smaller sections or larger sections it’s totally up to you and if there’s little hairs that are poking out from your layers don’t stress, it is just part of the look. You might have to bobby pin some areas that pop out if you don’t have time to start over. Once you put your elastic band in, go back through and pull up with your thumb and your pointer finger little sections of the braid up and out. This will give it a full, messy, undone look! Have fun with it and let me know how it goes!! Comment below with any other tutorial requests you think of!!
