Dark Souls - Dragon Slayer Ornstein / Executioner Smough Boss Fight (Strategy)

Area: Anor Londo Level: 50 Class: Knight Weapon: Crystal Halberd+1, Eagle Shield+5 Armor: Mask of the Child, Gold Hemmed Cloak/Legs, Stone Gloves, Cloranthy Ring, Ring of Steel Protection Difficulty: 7/10 This fight is hard without the right setup. I was trying with full gold hemmed and mask of the child with a grass shield and halberd+5.... That failed pretty hard. Not enough damage, I was running out of Estus Flasks. The Crystal Halberd+1 is basically 100 more damage than my Halberd+5, and made this fight go ALOT easier. Also Choosing the Eagle Shield+5 over my Grass shield helped tremendously. The Eagle Shield has 100% Physical Damage Reduction, better resistances and greater stability, but gives up the stamina regen of the Grass shield. As for the fight itself. You want to get separation from the two enemies. Does not really matter which one. Smough (The big fat guy) has less HP, and seems to be a lot easier to kill. However Ornstein has huge range. He can throw thunderbolts, and he can dash across the entire map. I personally targeted Ornstein and got my free hits in on Smough if I could. Once you get the fight down to 1 on 1 it is much more manageable. I must have died figuring out what gear worked about 15~20 times. My goal so far has been to beat this game alone, and have had little problem thus far, but this battle really put me up to my limits.
