Беляши с мясом || How To Make Belyashi With Meat || Russian Piroshki || Step by Step Recipe (2018)

Belyashi is one of the most popular foods not only in Russia but also in some EU and Asian countries. Ingredients for the Dough: First, you need to prepare yeast mixture: 10 gr warm water 1 tsp sugar 1 tsp instant yeast Preparing yeast mixture will help the dough rise faster 2 tbsp oil 1 cup of warm milk 1 cup warm water 4 (appr.) cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp salt Ingredients for the Meat Filling: 200-300 gr ground meat 1 medium minced onion salt pepper How to make the Dough: 1. First prepare the yeast mixture, combining 10 gr warm water, sugar, and yeast. Mix it and let it sit for a while until it raises. 2. Add the ingredients in the following order: Oil, warm milk, warm water, flour (as needed, the dough must be soft and sticky), salt, yeast mixture. Let dough rise (it takes about 2 hours). 3. While it's rising, work on the meat filling for belyashi: 4. Ground the meat and onions in the mincer. Then add salt and pepper. 5. Put the finished dough onto a well-floured cutting board, dust the dough with flour and with well-floured hands, shape it into a large ball. It will rise more as you make the belyashi. 6. Cut off pieces one at a time about ¾″ thick. 7. Place the piece of dough over your well-floured hand (dough will be sticky) and shape it into a 3″ to 4″ circle using your hands. Do not put flour on the side where you are going to put the meat, otherwise, the sides won’t seal. 8. Place 1 tablespoon of meat filling in the center of the dough. Cover the meat with the sides of the dough and pinch the edges together to seal the dough. 9. Heat oil in a large, deep, heavy-bottomed pan or cast iron dutch oven (I used a deep fryer). There should be enough oil to cover the belyashi half-way up the side. 10. Place them in the hot oil top side where it is a whole so that meat could cooked and fry until deep golden brown and turn another side and pour hot oil into the meat using a spoon on each side (make sure meat is cooked thoroughly). 11.
