The initially planned route was from the Inner Harbor Xindike (Zhou Tou Tsui) to Haizhu Bridge. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the plan was significantly extended to the east of Chigang Chungkou. It is basically the same as the current Binjiang Road and Yuejiang Road, but construction has not started yet. In 1957, road construction began along the south bank of the Pearl River. Because it is close to the Pearl River, it was named Binjiang Road. Between 1964 and 1965, an embankment with a total length of about 3,800 meters from Chau Tou Tsui to Shek Chung Kou was built. The embankment was entirely made of granite, and the road from the riverside to the green belt in the middle of the road was paved with concrete blocks to create a wide Straight sidewalks. On the shore, railings were built in the style of the long embankment on the north bank of the Pearl River. They are symmetrical from north to south, forming a river-side urban landscape and becoming a leisure and sightseeing area for citizens. At the end of 2000, a facade decoration project was carried out along the Binjiang Road section from Haiyin Bridge to People's Bridge, and the roadside buildings were comprehensively renovated in a European style. Currently, the annual Spring Festival Flower Fair in Haizhu District is held in the section from Hongde Road to Tongqing Road. ———————————— Yankou (former site of the First Labor University) Pier, also known as Yankou Pier, is a passenger ferry terminal along the Pearl River in Haizhu District, Guangzhou, China. It is located across the river from Binjiang West Road in Haizhu District, covering an area of approximately 90.9 square meters. Qiekou Pier was rebuilt in 1964. The area was named Qiekou, and there is Qiekou Market nearby. After reconstruction in 2002, it is one of the oldest piers with a long history preserved on both sides of the Pearl River in Guangzhou. This is also the location of the Haizhu District Flower Market held every Spring Festival.
