FBEU locked in 'pay dispute' with NSW government: Sydney Metro line delayed indefinitely

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell discusses the "pay dispute" behind the delay in opening the new Metro line. The opening date for Sydney's new $21.6 billion Metro line has been delayed by an indefinite period as further safety exercises are needed to give the line the all clear. “With a Labor government in in NSW, the unions appear to be calling the shots once again,” Mr Clennell said. “The reason that’s been put to me is quite simply because the firees have refused to do emergency drills. “That’s why the national safety regulator isn’t approving it yet. “That is because the Fire Brigade Employees’ Union is locked in a pay dispute with the state government.”
