Puget Sound Concert Opera Presents The Act II Interlude from Fedora by Umberto Giordano

Puget Sound Concert Opera Presents The Act II Interlude from Fedora by Umberto Giordano Act II instrumental interlude from our 2018 production of Fedora played by John Burkhardt, piano, Janice Lee, cello and Candice Chin, violin. Princess Fedora Romanov follows Count Loris Ipanov, her fiance’s suspected murderer, to Paris. She entices him to fall in love with her. During a party held at her home, Ipanov declares his love and when prompted about his “mysterious past” he confesses that he did kill the man in question. He promises to return later in the evening and explain everything to her. When he leaves, she meets with the Russian secret police, tells them that Ipanov has confessed and arranges for them to capture him as he leaves the party. This instrumental moment occurs as she waits for Ipanov’s return.
