This lick is using a combination of sweeping picking and legato technique to play the E minor arpeggio and E natural minor/Aeolian mode scale sequence way up high on the guitar neck. Using these techniques gives the lick/run a very smooth and flowing sound, that will work well for any rock or metal situation.
