History of Integrated Circuits: The Foundation of Modern Society

This professional documentary describes the history of the integrated circuit, how the integrated circuit was developed, who created the integrated circuit, when the integrated circuit was created, how the integrated circuit works and functions, and how the integrated circuit has changed over time and come to develop into something that has fundamentally changed how our society operates. This documentary is complete with expert interviews from Nobel Prize winner Dr. Willard Boyle & founder of Qualcomm, Ray Stata and stories how this device came to be and the impact it has had on our world to date. We have a 150 page annotated bibliography of research & over 400 hours of video editing involved on this project of the history of the integrated circuit. Click to read more. This is our 2010 National History Day project. We were all Juniors in High School at the time. After submitting our work, we received a surprise letter from Congressman John Tierney commending our project. Team: Alex Rosier, Andrew Spector, Ben Waldron-Feinstein, Will Kopperl, Nick Taylor. The theme for this year was "Innovation in History: Impact and Change." Over the course of seven months of constant research, interviewing, argument forming, and script writing and rewriting, we created this final documentary on the innovation of the integrated circuit for the national competition on April 10, 2010.
