Elixir makes storing and managing state in processes convenient by providing Agent and GenServer behavior modules. However, it is worth acknowledging that OTP goes beyond that since in some cases it’s better to choose a more specialized solution. The talk will be focused on gen_statem, which is an Erlang/OTP behavior module for building event-driven state machines. Its features will be discussed, and then, during the second half of the talk, an example state machine will be implemented. ?
