Robert Weisz Tent Talk

Robert Weisz is Professor of Organizational Behavior & Organizational Development at the IAE Aix-en-Provence. He specializes in communication, change leadership, coaching and personal development. In this TentTalk with David Slocum of the Berlin School, Weisz describes his focus stress and its effect on communications in the workplace. In stressful situations competency and adaptiveness are lost, Weisz explains. Creativity often suffers due to resultant rigid, stereotyped and repetitive behavior. The healthy exchange of social energies necessary for productivity is restricted leading to a state of "survival" in contrast to desired "growth". Therefore the job of the successful creative leader is to reduce unhealthy stress in the workplace through communication, to ensure a continual state of growth. Weisz also comments on the unique character of Berlin School Executive MBA participants explaining that they combine a unique balance between creativity and innovation, ideas and action, play and results. In essence, he explains, they have the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs.
