Custom made fluorescent fixture by me ordered by a fan
My friend Diesel Ducy wanted a fluorescent fixture that would run a F13T8 lamp since he didn't have any and couldn't find any, so he asked me to make one. I had to buy a lamp to measure the lampholder distance and test ballasts to figure out which one would run it at a close enough wattage to the correct one. I build these fixtures entirely by hand (with some power tools) so I would obviously charge a lot more money for one of these than something you'd buy at a store. I'm keeping the prices confidential between myself and customers but this is not something you would want unless you seek something that isn't made and live close enough to me within the country that shipping is going to be reasonable. Besides, I don't have access to ballasts or gear that runs on the current of foreign countries anyway. In most cases I won't build something over 2 feet either. However, this was a showcase of the new fixture par his request so that he could see what he's getting and also to showcase my skills. Lighting Gallery members and Gallery of Lights members are more than welcome to contact me if you have something in mind and we can discuss where to go from there. As for this fixture itself, it is obviously preheat, and I made it to look like some of the older vintage strip fixtures that have the black lampholders and are a little longer than the lampholder area, complete with the ballast being mounted on the channel cover instead of the channel back and screwed in black lampholders, one of which has a starter block. With that said, enjoy.
