GOAN PRAWN CURRY | HOW TO MAKE GOAN PRAWN CURRY WITHOUT OIL Sharing with you all one of my absolute favourite curry: GOAN PRAWN CURRY. This video explains a step by step process to make it and the fact that this recipe uses NO OIL increases the goodness of it even more. Ingredients 250-300g of king prawns (peeled, deveined and marinated with salt and ginger garlic paste) 6 cloves of garlic 1 1/2 inch of ginger 1 tsp of turmeric powder 5-6 Kashmiri chillies 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) 2 tbsp coriander seeds 1 small ball of tamarind 1 large onion (roughy chopped) Water as required(to grind) 3-4 dried kokum peels (optional) 2 green chillies (slit open) Method Coarse grind all the ingredients together in a blender (except the green chillies and kokum). Then extract the thick juice from this. Put the mixture back in the blender with about 1/2 cup of warm water grind again and extract the juice in a different container. This is now the thin juice. Add 1/2 cup water to the mixture for a third time and extract thin juice again. Then heat oil in a deep bottomed vessel, add the thin juice and let it begin to boil, to this then add the marinated prawns and let it cook for about 10 mins. Then add the thick juice and let it cook for another 5 minutes. Add the kokum (if using) and slit green chillies at this stage. Let it cook a little longer and Tada it’s ready!!!
