Is the John Deere Combine like a Big Race Car????? Drought Harvest 2022 In today's video, you can see our huge wheat fields and how terrible the harvest is. Six bushels (one bushel is 60 pounds) of wheat per acre compared with 70+ bushels of wheat per acre normally. The crop is over 10 times LESS than a normal year! Our goal is to make the best of it and have fun harvesting no matter what. Dad thinks I'm driving my combine like a go-cart or race car because I am going too fast on my turns!!!! I like waiving to our neighbors who are harvesting in their Case IH combines. My family loves John Deere equipment and we are proud to drive these big green machines! I see quite a few hawks in the field today, which is awesome!!!! Dad and Darcy are driving combines with me. Steve Whal is driving the semi-truck and he even hops in my combine to give me some pointers when I am dumping wheat into the semi-truck! This is the real thing and not a farming simulator! I try not to make mistakes because they are very costly. Overall we are trying to make the best of a terrible crop because smiling is a lot better than complaining. We can't control the weather or the drought and we understand that with great crop years come some bad crop years like this one. Dad did a great job with the drone footage. Thank you, Dad!
