South Kalimantan Indonesia tourism exploration
The floating market or floating market which is now the mainstay of tourism in South Kalimantan, especially the city of Banjarmasin, is estimated to have existed in the era of the still sustainable Banjar sultanate.
Several traders in the floating market admitted that they did not know exactly when the transactions on the water through the canoe began to grow and develop in the area known as the "land of a thousand rivers".
According to the traders, they sell like this only to carry on the habits of their parents, while their parents claim to carry on it from the habits of their predecessors as well.
There are two floating markets in this area, the big one is in Kuin Village or above the Barito River, Banjarmasin City, while the second is in Lok Baintan Village, Banjar Regency or an hour's journey by klotok (motorized boat) from downtown Banjarmasin.
It is very unfortunate that the existence of the floating market in Kuin Village, Banjarmasin City has gradually diminished and is now no longer visible, while in Lok Baintan, Banjar Regency, it is still alive today.
Therefore, the Banjarmasin City Government since the leadership of Mayor Haji Muhidin created an artificial floating market on the Martapura River, precisely at the location of the Siring Tendean tourist attraction.
Apparently, the artificial market is developing well and has become a mainstay tourist attraction in this city.
