Cutting Board Care - Olive or Mineral oil ?

Welcome to InfoZhed Workshop I was in need of a new cutting board to replace my plastic one that is at the end of its useful life and opted for a bamboo board that was cheap and available at a local store. To be honest I was a bit skeptical as to how it would perform but to be fair it is holding up well after a month or so use. As the bamboo is untreated I decided to give it a little TLC in the hope the thing will last and was unsure what to use as a conditioner and protector. Decided to buy Cutting Board Oil and Wax that came as a two piece kit but unsure if Olive Oil from the cupboard was sufficient. Well the two piece kit has made a difference and I will continue to give it a coating every couple of weeks in order to make it last as long as possible.
