Electrothermal Thruster Test - Neon

This is a demonstration of the radio-frequency electrothermal thruster using Neon as the propellant. The output frequency of the electrothermal thruster is 85MHz with considerable harmonics. This has been tested under medium vacuum at 1 Torr, or 133 Pa and the mass flow rate is 70 mg/s. The input voltage to the system is 15V. The anode is a conventional converging-diverging nozzle with a 4:1 exhaust-throat area ratio. The cathode is a simple cylinder. Both are made out of aluminum.
