DIY Dust Collection Adapters for Woodworking Tools
When you are addicted to cleanliness and you want every of your power tool equipped with each of its own dust extraction adapter in order for them to be attached to a shop vacuum cleaner. But buying them from the original manufacturer don't come cheap and the product availability is beyond reach... So it's time for DIY!
So I purchased a bunch of vacuum cleaner attachment accessories for the cheap and started drilling and cutting them to fit into 3 most used power tools in my woodworking arsenal: Plunge router, circular saw, and the palm router.
Project TIMELINE of each Power Tool Dust Collection Adapter:
00:55 - Plunge Router
02:35 - Circular Saw
06:00 - Palm Router / Edge Trimmer
The easiest vacuum cleaner attachment conversion is for the plunge router. I just drilled and bolted the vacuum nozzle down and that's it. The second tricky one is for the circular saw. As you can see I previously modified the saw and drilled holes previously in an attempt to attach an extra vacuum accessory. I used an aluminum L profile as bracket for the attachment and made it sturdy by bolting them down good. For the palm router, I made two dust adapters, for normal surface routing and for edge routing using same size and design vacuum accessory.
These 3 main woodworking tools will be used frequently in building subwoofer and speaker enclosures. And will be used together with my 3 vacuum cleaners in the shop.
I think that is all for this episode and I hope you find this highly educational. Let me know what you think. Thank you all and see you in the next video!
