8-6-19 Newport News City Treasurer And Commissioner Of The Revenue: Double Taxation As Punishment

In our ongoing struggle with the City of Newport News and its various departments we have been brought to the attention yet again of the Treasurer and Commissioner Of The Revenue. Shortly after the incident at Newport News Police Department Headquarters on 10-23-18 where Chief Steve Drew and Assistant Chief Grinstead assaulted, battered and falsely imprisoned me the Commisioner Of The Revenue was brought to bear on us in order to apply financial strain to our existence. After having been criminally charged in February of 2019 for failure to pay a license fee to pull weeds and dig holes in yards across Tidewater we acquiesced under duress and paid their illegal demands and the charges were nolle prosequi (withdrawn but not dismissed outright). Six months later we received another tax assessment against our personal property dating back to 2016. This tax bill is titled Personal Property Tax Bill/Vehicle License Fee and is assessed against an unnamed unspecified vehicle that according to the City Code must br used primarily for business purposes. Unfortunately for them we have already paid the personal property tax, at the same $4.50 per $100 value, on our sole vehicle as that is required already to register and tag such in Newport News. This is yet another attempt to financially destroy us in order that we are silenced. It won't work.
