'A Forgotten Part of History': The Cemeteries of Jackson Ranch

Ramiro Roberto Ramirez keeps up a church and family cemetery of his ancestors located on the United States and Mexico border in what was called "Jackson Ranch." Scheduled expansion of the wall south of San Juan, TX, leaves access to the historical site in question. Ramirez's family ventured to the Rio Grande Valley from Alabama in 1857, founding the area's first Spanish-speaking Methodist Church. A planned 150-foot-wide patrol road flanking the new wall could disrupt the historic burial sites.
