Is bait the better choice for flounder this year? 8 inch gulp grubs overkill?

Our trip to montauk was great as far as sea bass were concerned, they'll hit anything. Summer flounder seems to be showing a consistent bite on bait so far this season, while the ocean bite seems to be just getting into full swing.
