2024 Ducati Multistrada V2 S: A Closer Look, Is it Better than the Multistrada V4?
On June 7, 2023, Ducati showed off its Black-On-Black livery on the 2024 Panigale V2. Just a week later, Ducati unveiled the next darkly decadent V2 delight in its 2024 lineup: the Multistrada V2 S.
The new 2024 Multistrada V2 S in Thrilling Black and Street Grey livery goes for a visually interesting mix of glossy black color and matte accents on its bodywork. As you’d expect from the name, black and grey are indeed the dominant colors used in this design. Pops of Ducati red and silver also break up the lines somewhat, adding visual interest and keeping your eye moving around the bike.
If you’re in the market for a capable adventure tourer from Europe, there’s a high chance you’ll consider the Ducati Multistrada V2. For 2024, all this has become even more delectable, as the Italian giant has now an update for its middleweight ADV. Though a minor one, it makes the V2 ever-so-pretty, dare we say, even more than the flagship Multistrada V4.
The 2024 Multistrada V2 S is powered by a 937cc Testastretta 11-degree V-twin engine that makes a claimed 113 horsepower at 9,000 rpm, alongside 71 pound-feet of torque at 7,750 rpm all sent to the wheel via a quick shifter-equipped six-speed transmission. Whether journeying far or on the daily commute, riding pleasure is always guaranteed with the engine robust and easy to handle in every situation.
All this while, the engine sits inside a tubular trellis chassis. It relies on beefy 48 mm Marzocchi upside-down forks and a Marzocchi Mono shock 170 mm travel, both loaded with Ducati’s Skyhook electronic adjustment. Also, part of the underpinnings are 19-inch front and 17 rear-inch wheels that wear 320 mm front disc brakes and a 265 mm rear disc, bit by Brembo calipers.
Being an ADV, the V2 does weigh near 500 pounds, but the near-accessible 830 mm should make it easy to live with. Stock seat height is 830mm, both low and high seat accessories are also available from Ducati, which change the seat height to either 810mm or 850mm respectively.
This, in addition to the Ducati Red alloy wheels, makes the ADV quite sporty and reminds us of the Multistrada 1260 Grand Tour. Not to mention, it plays the perfect sibling to the new Batman-inspired Ducati Panigale V2. Anyway, in case you’re not a fan of this, you’d be happy to know the 2024 V2 carries forward the Ducati Red livery.
The standard electronics package includes ABS Cornering, Vehicle Hold Control, Ducati Traction Control and the Ducati Brake Light system. Compared to the standard version, the Multistrada V2 S is also fitted as standard with Cruise Control, Ducati Quick Shift Up & Down and a dashboard with 5” color TFT screen, Present on both the V2 and V2 S models are also the 4 Riding Modes.
Ensure your travel experience aboard the Multistrada V2 is unique with the dedicated line of Ducati accessories.
Ducati’s American website lists the 2024 Multistrada V2 S’ price as ‘To Be Confirmed’. However, a quick look at the configurator reveals the starting price to be $18,895 for the Ducati Red colorway and $19,295 for the new Thrilling Black option.
