What Happened to LEGO's Game Jams?

Did you know that the LEGO Group used to run game jams? 0:00 Intro 0:02 Explanation 0:39 Outro After the success of the LEGO Ideas platform, the company wanted to expand into helping developers create their very own LEGO games. So they partnered with Unity to release the LEGO Microgame, a collection of tools meant to help anyone quickly make a game without any prior knowledge of coding. It consisted of a selection of behavior bricks that could be placed on entities and then modified using only checkboxes and dropdown options. No need to open a script and learn C#. Following the Microgame’s launch, the LEGO Group held several game jams with a bunch of available prizes, including LEGO sets, Unity Pro subscriptions and vouchers for the Unity Asset Store. Most notably, a LEGO NINJAGO-themed game jam was held, which promised not just sets and vouchers, but that the winner could be playable in LEGO retail stores. But that was all the way back in 2021. Since then, there haven't been any new mods or add-ons published, and no other game jams have been announced, which is a shame. It’s an incredible concept, and I’d love to see a new game jam happening. I’m well aware that things aren’t going too well with Unity right now, so maybe they could have the contest on another game engine, like, for example, Godot?
