Unboxing: Sailor 1911 Pro Gear Slim Sound of Rain - Summer Rain Fountain Pen

The Sound of Rain - Summer Rain fountain pen marks my fifth Sailor in the 1911 Pro Gear Slim series. These pens are fast becoming a ‘must collect’ favourite, limited only by the fact that I focus strictly on all-blue-toned or teal-blue pens, and sometimes greys and colourless demonstrators, and that my pockets don’t reach deep enough to buy these pens at a faster pace 🤪. I do have six other pens in this series on my wishlist, and I won’t be surprised if the list gets longer when I get around to saving up for the next one. I plan to buy other pen brands for awhile after this one though 😬. Inspired by the seasons in Japan, Summer Rain is the first in the Sound of Rain series. I am not sure if the others have been released yet, but this is a beautiful one to get things going. The matte resin body is lovely, and that 21k nib is downright stunning! Despite it being a H-MF nib, it writes surprisingly well and the ink flow is satisfactorily juicy. It is a little stiff compared to a H-M nib, but it’s definitely not as hard as my other H-MF nibs. Maybe it’s the 21k nib, and maybe it’s that magic Sailor + Sailor combination! Either way, this pen is definitely a keeper, and I am thrilled to welcome it to my (still slowly) growing collection of Sailor 1911 Pro Gear Slims! I hope you enjoyed this unboxing video.
