Put an end to the shark fin trade!

Each year, up to 73 million sharks are killed for their fins which are mainly used in shark fin soup. Now nearly a third of all shark and shark-like species are threatened with extinction. Shark finning is not only gruesome but dangerously efficient. Dumping the bleeding bodies and leaving the fins to dry on deck frees up freezer space, which fishermen can save for more valuable meats like swordfish and tuna. It’s like cutting off your limbs and leaving you to bleed to death. Call your U.S. representative and ask them to support H.R. 2811, the Shark Fin Sales Elimination Act.
