Scribe Valdez is in the adjacent room on the mezzanine. When you speak with Valdez, she assumes that you are a civilian. You explain that Knight Shin had sent you to assist her with anything she needs. She goes on to say that if you do a good enough job she’ll give a recommendation. Valdez explains that she would like to go down into the “bowls” of Fort Atlas. Your map marker will update, and Valdez tells you that she will meet you down there. Once you arrive downstairs you will need to speak with Valdez once again where she will ask you to sweep the area for documentation. You’re responses have no bearing on the results of your conversation. She’ll suggest going further down the stairs to see what can be turned up. When you reach the bottom, you’ll find several minor bugs and cave crickets to clear out. The radar will point to three locations for you to examine. A document located next to a skeleton A document located on a desk next to computer equipment Lastly, a document is located on a rolling table Your next step is to speak again with Valdez as she reads the documents. Now Valdez wants to do a quick inspection of key components that should be nearby. The radar will update with the three items you need to check. A computer terminal where you will run a Diagnostics Check A wire box located on the side of the core About this time, two waves of Molerats will attack. Valdez assists with the attack and it should be fairly easy to win. If you haven’t already done it, you will need to check the valve. When you select the valve, their will be a minor explosion. Now Valdez tells you that you two should speak. Valdez will ask you about all the items you examined. When I went through this dialog, I selected the worse answer available and the results were the same as if I answered correctly. Next Valdez would like to extract some parts from the core which leads you to going upstairs and taking them out with as she put it, “with a light touch”. I successfully removed the Ion Focus by Gently unhooking each tube and wire from the device and lifting it out. I accessed the central Processing terminal and powered off the unit and ejected the CPU For the pressure gauge, I oiled the screws to remove the rust and lifted the gauge out. I then extracted the induction coil from the ATLAS machine core by unhooking both wires and sliding the coil out. Lastly I removed the mysterious canister by gently lifting it out. At this point you will be attacked by two waves of bots. Be careful though, one of the bots will spin up and explode on death. After the bot battle, you will meet up again with Valdez where she will inspect all of the components. She then hands you a letter to give Paladin Rahmani of her recommendation of you.
