Sensing the winds of space

Up until 200 ago we thought that the sun only generated light and heat. We also thought it had no other effect on the solar system aside from gravitational effect. We now know that the sun streams out sub atomic particles. Collectively known as the solar wind these particles can dramatically change a planet over time.In this episode In this episode we take a detailed look at The Solar Orbiter spacecraft that will be studying the solar wind.
