4K HEVC editing over SMB

This is a video to show that we can edit 4K HEVC videos smoothly on cMP even the source videos stored on a low end NAS which only has HDD (connected via ethernet). As long as we edit HEVC directly by using GPU hardware decoding, storage speed doesn't really matter. Storage demand, network demand, CPU demand all showed on iStat menu. There are some drop frames occasionally in FCPX timeline playback, that's due to I used my GPU to record the screen at 4K in real time as well. That affected the video editing performance a bit. In general, I won't do that, and the editing performance is better. The timeline playback should be smoother. And I believe the capture already good enough to illustrate how easy / smooth it can be. N.B. I edit the 4K HEVC video directly, no import, no background rendering, no proxy, no optimised media. Just drag and drop, then edit and playback. Everything in real time (clock shows on the top right). The whole screen recording is untouched, just capture then upload to here. If you want to install my OpenCore package (for Mac Pro 5,1) in order to enable this HEVC hardware decoding ability (applicable for RX460 and above), please click the following link, read that post, and follow the instruction at there. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/activate-amd-hardware-acceleration.2180095/page-53?post=2825504 #post-28255048 P.S.
