2023 BYD YangWang U8, Chinese auto giant BYD last week launched the new premium Electric Vehicle brand YangWang U8 tasked with targeting top European automakers like BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The new YangWang U8 enhances its off-road capabilities by combining a tough appearance with a quad motor arrangement and cutting-edge technology. At the launch event, Wang Chuanfu, chairman of BYD, personally drove the car into the venue. In addition to the new SUV, the Yangwang brand also launched a driving technology known as ‘Yisifang,’ also known as the e4 platform, which will be used for the first time in the YangWang U8. With an estimated starting price of around one million Yuan (around $145,000), the YangWang U8 is aimed to rival top-tier SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz EQG and the upcoming electric Land Rover Defender.
