In France, the first round of early parliamentary elections ended yesterday. They were appointed by the President of the country after the defeat of his party in the elections to the European Parliament. The vote ended with a convincing victory for the National Unification Party, led by Marine Le Pen. Emmanuel Macron's party, although it entered the top 3, lost significantly to the right. Protests of those who disagree with the outcome of the vote broke out in the capital of the country quite predictably. However, all the most interesting things are still ahead — the second round of elections, which will finally determine the balance of power in the Fifth Republic, will be held on July 7.
