How to Install Turn off and unplug the air purifier and open the door of the Scent Cartridge Compartment on the control panel. Peel the foil layer off the cartridge by pulling on the tab. Disclaimer: Eye Irritant. Avoid contact with eyes. DO NOT touch the scent pad located within the cartridge. Contains fragrance oils. Once the foil seal is removed, from the scent cartridge, the fragrance oils will be exposed to the air and will start to evaporate. It must be used once opened. It cannot be re-sealed and saved for use later. Disclaimer: For scent only, refill cartridge should not be taken internally. A thin, clear film with perforations will remain attached to the cartridge. Do not remove. Make sure to Insert scent cartridge completely into the scent compartment. Then Close the Scent Compartment door. Use the control dial to adjust the scent intensity. A scent cartridge can last up to 30 days, depending on use and the level of scent intensity chosen. When you wish to replace your scent, you may use any Febreze Air Purifier Scent Refill. There may be residual scent initially if you change to a different scent from the one that was most recently in the unit. Your Febreze Air Purifier will also function without using a scent cartridge.
