This Surah (Chapter 19) is named after Maryam, the mother of Isa [Jesus]. The subject matter of this Surah is the true message and teachings of the Prophets of Allah. Several Prophets are mentioned here: Zakariyya, Yahya, Jesus (PBUH) and his mother Maryam, Ibrahim, Musa, Ismail and Idris -may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon all of them. Allah blessed these Prophets. They taught Tawhid (monotheism) and called their people to the worship of Allah alone. Please watch this video for enlightenment and for education, not as a wazifa for pregnancy. That attitude is disrespectful to the Quran. Any wazifa for getting a boy instead of a girl shows your disbelief in Allah. Stop this attitude and learn to accept Allah's blessings and will instead of insisting on your will. Ask for his favors. If you don't understand this then your iman is not complete. You did not learn anything from this Surah if you still insist on your will from Allah.

Some verses of this Surah are recited in Ruqiyas for protection against evil eye, jinn possession and black magic. The Surah is often recommended for childless women. However, I do not ascribe to that tradition since its origins are not from Islam. Many other benefits of this Surah (chapter) are also stressed but please try to watch and listen with an open heart and not for quick fixes or cures.
