Overpopulation and the continual growth of human enterprise are threatening the world’s biodiversity, with some species becoming extinct at as many as thousands of times the background rate, many of which are based in tropical areas. Professor Paul Ehrlich, President of the Center for Conservation Biology and Bing Professor of Population Studies at Stanford University, will discuss the world’s sixth mass extinction of species – one that humanity is causing.
