Kamphaeng Phet - Circumambulation at the temple - Buddhism

One of the most memorable experiences I had during my visit to Kamphaeng Phet was the night of circumambulation at a temple. Circumambulation is a Buddhist practice of walking around a sacred object, such as a stupa or a Buddha image, in a clockwise direction, as a sign of respect and devotion. It is usually done three times, symbolizing the Three Jewels of Buddhism: the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. The night of circumambulation was a special event that took place on the full moon day of the third lunar month, which marks the anniversary of the Buddha's first sermon. The temple was illuminated by candles and lanterns, creating a serene and mystical atmosphere. I joined hundreds of pilgrims and monks in walking around the main stupa, chanting prayers and reciting verses from the scriptures. I felt a sense of peace and connection with the teachings of the Buddha and the community of his followers. It was a truly spiritual and unforgettable experience.
